An orientation session was held on September 18, 2026, at the TBMYO Conference Hall for first-year students newly enrolled in the Food Technology Program within the Food Processing Department of Mersin University’s Technical Sciences Vocational School.

The event, organized by the first-year student advisor, Lecturer Dr. Günseli Bobuş Alkaya, was attended by the Department Head, deputy department heads, and faculty members.

During the program, students were informed about the course curriculum, theoretical and practical training processes, laboratory facilities, technical trips, and internship procedures. Additionally, the Food Processing Department laboratories were showcased, allowing students to gain firsthand insight into the practical training opportunities available to them.

As part of the orientation program, a class representative election was held to encourage active student participation in departmental and classroom communication processes; the representative was selected through a vote involving the students. Subsequently, faculty members answered questions from the new students and wished them success in their studies.

The event concluded after an explanation of laboratory rules and a tour of the department's laboratory facilities.

As the Food Processing Department, we wish our newly joined students a successful and productive academic journey.
