A "Work Life Preparation Workshop" was held for Midwifery Department students through a collaboration between the Mersin University Career Center and the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Facilitated by Mehmet Öncü—an İŞKUR Job Club Leader and Job and Vocational Counselor—the event covered topics such as preparing an effective CV, preparing for job interviews, setting career goals, building a job-search network, body language, and effective communication. Mersin University Career Center Director Prof. Dr. İlhan Ege and Midwifery Department faculty member Prof. Dr. Gözde Gökçe İsbir also attended the event and met with the students.
Addressing the students during the program, Center Director Prof. Dr. İlhan Ege emphasized that university education is not merely a process of acquiring academic knowledge; he highlighted the importance of students defining their career goals, understanding the expectations of the business world, and developing their professional competencies prior to graduation. He stated that the Career Center would continue to support students in their transition from university to professional life. At the conclusion of the event, a certificate of appreciation was presented to Mehmet Öncü by Career Center Deputy Director Lecturer Dr. Yazbahar Çetin Doğan in recognition of his contributions and participation.
