Appointment and Registration Process
Application and appointment procedures for residents placed at our faculty through TUS or YDUS follow the Faculty Implementation Principles on Residency Application and Appointment, adopted by our Senate on 26 November 2025 (decision 2025/138).
Applying step by step
1 Follow the results · Announcement date ÖSYM announces the placement results. The announcement counts as legal notification, and your application period runs from that date (Regulation art. 13/5, 13/6). |
2 Prepare your documents · Before applying Prepare the documents for your type of appointment using the list below and fill in the appointment petition. |
3 Apply to our faculty · Within 10 working days Apply to our faculty with the required documents (Principles art. 3/1). |
4 If you have an excuse · Within 3 working days after the 10-day period ends If you could not apply in time, apply to the Dean's Office with documents showing the reason for the delay (such as a health report, an official document, childbirth, transport problems or a natural disaster). The Faculty Executive Board decides whether the excuse is valid (Principles art. 4). |
5 Appointment and starting work · Within 45 days Appointments of eligible candidates are completed. The appointment of anyone who does not start work without an acceptable legal reason is cancelled (Regulation art. 13/6; Principles art. 5). |
Positions not taken up in time are reported to ÖSYM within 10 working days after the application period ends, and ÖSYM makes a one-time additional placement within 30 days (Principles art. 3/2). The excuse provision does not change the time limits in the regulation (Principles art. 4/4).
